You're More Than A Fan - You're Part of the Story

SongShares are official royalty shares of the music you love. Not merch, not crypto, real ownership with royalties paid when the song streams.

"Freedom Was a Highway" is a song recorded by American country music singers Jimmie Allen and Brad Paisley, released on February 1, 2021, as the second single from Allen's second studio album Bettie James Gold Edition. Allen co-wrote the song with Matt Rogers and Ash Bowers, and co-produced it with the latter. Allen and Paisley revealed on The Bobby Bones Show that the idea for the duet "was born after a hangout with Allen, Paisley, Darius Rucker and Tim McGraw". Now, you can do more than listen to this story — you can own a piece of it.

FAQs

What are SongShares?
SongShares® are SEC?qualified fractional shares of a song’s royalty stream—letting fans own a tiny slice of the song’s earnings.
Do these royalties come from Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms?
Yes. Royalties are sourced from multiple channels (e.g., Spotify/Apple Music streams, radio, and other royalty streams) for the specific song, then distributed to shareholders based on the number of shares owned.
So, what am I buying?
You’re purchasing units in a Regulation A offering tied to a song’s royalty revenue. You’re not buying the master or publishing—rather, a right to participate in a portion of the royalties defined in the offering documents.
When do I receive Royalty Payments?
Distributions are made on a quarterly schedule after royalties are reported and aggregated. Timing can vary by source and reporting cycle.
Can I invest if I am outside the US?
International participation may be available depending on the offering and your local regulations. Please review each offering’s circular for eligibility and details.

Royalty Share Agreement Terms

Ownership of a SongShare in “Freedom Was a Highway – Jimmie Allen” represents a security interest under a Royalty Share Agreement. This Agreement is between the seller of the song rights and SongVest.

Under the Agreement:

  • What You Own – SongVest is entitled to receive a portion of the digital performance royalties for the copyrights listed below. These royalties are paid by SoundExchange, which collects and distributes royalties for non-interactive digital sound recording performances (such as Pandora, SiriusXM, and internet radio).
  • Duration – Your rights apply for the life of the copyrights listed in the Agreement.
  • How Payments Work – Each quarter, SoundExchange issues royalty statements and payments to the seller. SongVest, in turn, distributes proceeds to SongShare holders in proportion to the percentage of ownership defined in the Agreement.
  • Reporting – The SoundExchange royalty statements are the conclusive source of reporting, and the amounts stated in them will determine the revenues distributed, except in the case of manifest error.

This means your SongShare is not a fan perk or donation — it is a regulated, SEC-qualified security backed by actual royalty streams tied to “Freedom Was a Highway”.
